Seth is a Pro Bowler!

Seth was getting cabin fever, so we decided to all go to the local bowling alley and teach Seth how to bowl. They had a special seven pound ball and bumpers for the lane. He got a 70 on his first game, all by himself.

Here are some pictures we took of the game, as well as a few around the house shots of the family.

Thatcher's 1st Week

Thatcher has officially been home for a week now. And it has been a very eventful week. Thatcher has been to the doctors, and has had two visits to the hospital (to check up on his jahndis levels) Seth has also had a doctors appointment, so... bring on the medical bills!

Here are some pictures we took during the past week. Enjoy

Thatcher Hamilton Fayling has Arrived!

Thatcher decided to grace us with his presence at 5:19 AM on 11/07/2007. He shares the same birthday as his great-grandpa Brown. I got the call from Megan at 4:30 PM while I was at the office. I had 2.5 hours of traffic to get through before I could meet her at the hospital (thanks Jeff for ferrying her to the hospital.) 8 hours later and Thatcher arrived. He was 8 lbs, being the largest baby for the day. He has been having a few breathing issues, so he has been in the neo natal unit for the past two days. We hope to have him home by Sunday. Megan is doing well, and Seth seems to be in good spirts.

Thatcher at 34 Weeks

Megan had her last 3D ultrasound. Thatcher is coming along nicely and it looks like he has all his fingers and toes! We got some really good pictures this time around, and I took a 23 minute video and edited it down to approximately 4 minutes. You can view the pictures by clicking here.

Halloween 2007

Trick or Teat! We took Seth trick-or-treating and he had lots of fun. We thought it would be a big ordeal getting him into his outfit, since he was afraid of it for most of the month, but as the time came, he jumped right into the suit. There were TONS of spider-mans, wonder woman's, and power rangers. There was only ONE Cookie Monster, and that was Seth. Everybody loved the outfit. Click here to see the pictures.

Pumpkin Carving 2007

It is Halloween again, and that means pumpkin carving. Of course Seth wanted to carve a "rocket ship pumpkin" so I went hunting the web for a rocket ship I could print out and trace onto a pumpkin. I thought it would be a simple thing to do, but after 30 minutes I decided to settle on a "just ok" image. If I had any free time, I would create a website where you could find all kinds of things to print out to trace onto a pumpkin. Maybe next year...

Seth didn't want to get his fingers gooey, so Megan and I got to do that part, but he did like using the child safe pumpkin knife and helped cut out the rocket ship. His favorite part was the candles, so that is something we are going to have watch out for.

We are taking him Trick-or-Treating this Saturday (he has a Cookie Monster costume with his name on it) so look for pictures next week. In the mean time take a look at the carving pictures we took by clicking here.

I also created a short ~2 minute video of the day. Enjoy!

Seth the horse

Usually Seth rides me as if I am a horse. This time the tables are turned!!!

The Georgia Air Show

"Airplane show Saturday"...
"Airplane show Saturday"...
"Airplane show Saturday?"...

For the past week that is the only phrase Megan and I have been hearing out of Seth. We told him that the Georgia airshow was coming and it was the only thing he focused on all week.

Once we got there Seth's eyes light up as he looked at all the planes around him. He was having a GREAT time, until a star lifter (think REALLY REALLY REALLY big military jet) did a fly by, nearly deafening all of us. From that point on Seth was more apprehensive of the air show. We lasted about 90 minutes and decided to head back. Luckily as we were heading back, Seth started talking about airplanes again, so I don't think we have squashed is life long passion of flight.

Seth also got to board an Air force hurricane hunter, and sit in one of the seats. Click here to see the Airshow Pictures

Seth and his pool

It has been so hot here (most days over 100 degrees) that we decided to get a Seth a wading pool. So far it has been a big hit, with both Seth and the rest of the family. Here are a few pictures we captured.

Seth's 3rd Birthday

Seth had his 3rd birthday party today. He got a ton of cool stuff, but the top present was his replica of the NASA space shuttle Endeavor (which can be seen in the picture to the left.)

Seth did very well with the whole party thing, knowing all the expected traditions; opening the presents, blowing out the candles, and of course eating cake!

Here are pictures of the party.

Standing in my Shoes

This was just to cute for me to wait till I had more pictures to upload. Seth decided to try and wear my shoes this morning, and I happened to have the camera close by!

It's a boy???

Megan and I went to our first ultrasound last week. It is amazing how much the technology has changed in just three years. We were amazed when right before our eyes we were able to see a 3D image of our new son (we won't be positive of the gender for a few more weeks, but the ultrasound tech was fairly confident in her assessment.)

It looks like the due date is now going to be December 1st. If this pregnancy is anything like the last one, it will be more like a Halloween baby then a thanksgiving baby (Megan was a full month early last time.)

You can view some pictures of the ultrasound, or view the short video I created below.

Seth and Putt-Putt

The Mantel Family Visit

The Mantels braved the 12 hour drive with an infant to come visit us a few weeks ago. While they were down we decided to take the family out to putt-putt. Seth played very well for an "almost three year old" and amazed us all by playing all 9 holes. I think we may have another Tiger Woods on our hands!

I just measured Seth today and he is a tad shy of 3' 4'' making him exactly three feet shorter then me, and two feet shorter then Megan. Give him another few years, and we both will be looking up at him.

Here are the latest set of pictures I have collected. It has been hectic at work lately so I haven't had a lot of "picture taking" opportunities, but the ones I have gotten are worth viewing. I have also added a few new movies this posting. As always, look to the right of this blog, under the Video Archive to see the latest entries.

Spring is here

Well, spring is finally here, so that means a few months of misery for the entire family. Atlanta has had some record high pollen counts in the past few weeks, causing all of us to come down with sinus issues. Seth has had to have a couple of breathing treatments with is nebulizer, so that he can get a full breath. This also means a few late nights from time-to-time to deal with Seth and his "goo-belly" as Megan likes to call it.

There are some benefits to spring though, and that is we get to go back outside and enjoy the few months in Atlanta when it is not blisteringly hot! Seth has discovered water (think lakes and ponds) and wants to throw anything not bolted down into it.

I have added a few more pictures to our growing collection. I also modified the site to include a video archive. I have been slowly migrating our video collection into Google Video so that I don't have to worry about losing anything in the likely event one of my computers goes on the fritz.
Enjoy!

Archived Pictures

The following links are archived pictures that I have migrated over to this blog.

Welcome to our first blog

For a over two years now I have been running www.fayling.com/seth as a place to let friends and family know about pictures and movies regarding Seth. At that time, blogging was in its infancy and I determined that it would be easier to run my own site. After a few years of growth, I now believe it is time to migrate my old site to this blog. Mostly for the RSS/ATOM subscription model, allowing you to subscribe to this blog and to be notified when it changes, instead of relying on me to remember to to tell you when I have updated the site.

Don't look for massive amounts of posts; I am still very busy and don't expect to add more then one post a month or so, and I will also make it easy for you to get to this blog from the old location.

Enjoy!
